TouVelle State Recreation Site
TouVelle State Recreation Site is a great place for nature lovers, especially birders. The park is home to the TouVelle Lake Wildlife Area and offers scenic views of the lake, which was formed by an ancient volcano. The wildlife area is open year-round and offers hiking trails, fishing, and hunting opportunities. TouVelle also has a campground with three sites, each with water and electricity hookups.
There are no showers or restrooms at this site, but there are picnic tables and fire pits at each campsite. The park features two boat ramps that can be used by anyone who owns a boat or kayak. You’ll also find a playground here, as well as shelters if you want to reserve one in advance.
Valley of the Rogue State Park
This park is home to a wide variety of plants, animals, and natural wonders. With more than 7,000 acres, it’s the largest state park in Southern Oregon. You’ll find everything from waterfalls and spring wildflowers to old-growth forests full of Douglas fir trees up to 400 years old.
The Rogue River runs through the center of the park, creating a perfect spot for swimming and fishing. The Rogue River Trail offers hikers an opportunity to enjoy this beautiful area on foot.
