Want to bring the authentic flavors of Japan to your dinner table? One of the best things about living in Medford, OR is that you won’t have to go far to find flavors from all over the world. These local sushi places serve up some delicious rolls, along with other traditional Japanese dishes and a few more modern twists. 1. Oh’s Osaka Japanese Cuisine

For a fun atmosphere and excellent food, check out Oh’s Osaka. They’ve got dozens of different sushi rolls for you to pick from, like their New York Roll with tuna, avocado, and cucumber.

If you want a sushi roll with a bit more kick, go for the Warrior Roll instead. You’ll get deep-fried spicy tuna coated with a spicy mayo and eel sauce. For dinner and a show, check out their teppanyaki dinners made right by your table.

Like Oh’s Osaka, Shoji’s puts a focus on teppanyaki-style dinner, so you’ll see your meal made right beside your table by their flashy chefs.

Together with the great food you’ll be enjoying, it makes for an unforgettable experience. Our favorite of their sushi offers has to be the Philly Roll, which comes filled with savory smoked salmon, refreshing cucumber, and cream cheese.

3. Soorah Korean Cuisine

Although they specialize in providing our area with the most authentic Korean food around, Soorah also has a great selection of Japanese cuisine as well, including their impressive sushi menu.

Whatever rolls you end up ordering, their traditionally made kimchi makes a perfect complement that you won’t be able to stop munching on. You can also wash everything down with some traditional Korean hot tea. Our favorite has to be the sweet plum tea.

4. Shinsei Sushi

Located right in the Northgate Marketplace, Shinsei Sushi is a local favorite for Japanese dishes. For an appetizer, try the Shinsei Pizza, with seaweed, rice, your choice of fish, and tangy sauces giving a unique spin on the familiar dish.

They’ve got plenty of unique rolls on their menu that are sure to catch your eye. We went for the Las Vegas roll, with fresh salmon, cream cheese, and avocado, all deep-fried and served with a scrumptious unagi sauce.

5. Misoya Bistro

The owners at Misoya Bistro started with a vision to bring an eclectic mix of the best flavors from the Asian Pacific here to our hometown, and the results are something you need to taste to believe.

Try out their Imperial Roll, which comes filled with albacore, cucumber, and yama gobo topped with seared salmon, tobiko, green onion, and their chef’s special spicy sauce.
